Three Generations of American Innovation
Founded in 1957 by WWII veteran Elof Granberg, Granberg began with a simple idea: build sharpening tools that worked better, lasted longer, and solved real problems for working sawyers. His first invention, the File-N-Joint, helped revolutionize chainsaw sharpening and established the foundation for what Granberg would become. By the 1960s, Elof expanded into chainsaw milling, refining the Alaskan Mill into a system that would become the global standard for portable lumber production.
Today, we’re still family-owned, still manufacturing in the USA, and still driven by Elof’s belief that tools should work smarter, not harder. Every mill, sharpener, and rail system that leaves our workshop carries his legacy and our promise of quality craftsmanship built to last.
