Founded in 1957 by WWII veteran Elof Granberg, Granberg began with a simple idea: build sharpening tools that worked better, lasted longer, and solved real problems for working sawyers. His first invention, the File-N-Joint, helped revolutionize chainsaw sharpening and established the foundation for what Granberg would become. By the 1960s, Elof expanded into chainsaw milling, refining the Alaskan Mill into a system that would become the global standard for portable lumber production.
