AUXILLARY OILER KIT – G801A
For bars over 42″ or that need extra lubrication. Oil is injected in to the groove at the working end of the saw bar. Flow is controlled by a valve on the tank and oil is delivered by gravity. The Auxiliary Oiler Kit will extend saw bar life, provides for cooler cutting and prevents early bar wear. For non double end bars, two holes must be drilled in saw bar tip. Newer saws with better oiling systems may not require additional lubrication.
Oiler line is 24″ long.
*OILER KIT does not come with post.

Oiler works great in terms of delivering oil. It makes a big difference in terms of chain operating temperature and friction. The oiler on the Stihl MS880 is not sufficient for a 48-inch bar! Two needed improvements. 1. Add a hose clamp to hold the flexible hose onto the bar hose bib – it slides off easily once it gets oily. This happened a few times. 2. Add a locking pin to hold the tank onto the vertical mast. It vibrated up and fell into a running chain. The chain cut up the tank and messed up a couple of chain teeth where it hit the metal bracket.

Terrible. The valve after three cuts fell out of the tank port, resulting in a cut hose. Fortunately the valve was not damaged by the chain. Now it has to be wired /clamped to the tank to prevent it happening again. The plastic casting of the threads made it difficult to attach the cap without cross threading, and the tank had manufacture debris of plastic inside which promptly clogged the valve and the pieces of plastic that made it down the delivery hose were stuck at the bar delivery port. Absolutely not worth the money you are charging for it.
